History of AIKOSHA

1934

“AIKOSHA Watch Manufacturing” founded by Shotaro Hayakawa in Higashi-ku, Nagoya

May
1951

With a capital of ¥2 million, brothers Tsuneo Hayakawa (as President) and Kiyoo Hayakawa (as Executive Vice President) begins “AIKOSHA Watch Manufacturing Co., Ltd.” in Suitosaki-machi 4-25, Higashi-ku, Nagoya (Present day: 2-9-36 Aoi, Higashi-ku, Nagoya).

Begins producing windup wall clocks

Establishes Kyowa Watch Co., Ltd. in joint investment with Seikousha Co., Ltd. in Hichiso, Koma-gun, Gifu, and begins assembling SEIKO brand watches.
